Healthcare Futures Lab

The next generation of healthcare will not emerge from theory.

It will emerge from environments where clinicians, researchers, industry and AI systems work together. The MedeAIR Healthcare Futures Lab is an applied research and prototyping environment for the intelligent care systems of the next decade.

01Focus Areas
01

AI-Enabled Clinical Care

Agentic clinical workflow, multimodal patient intake, predictive triage and decision support — built on the Quantum Consult™ architecture.

02

Digital Twin Environments

Patient, pathway, facility and population digital twins. Patient-owned data governance via blockchain-permissioned smart contracts.

03

Precision Diagnostics

Computer-vision diagnostics, identity-verified home testing, longitudinal physiosome capture via wearables.

04

Virtual & Remote Care

Virtual critical care advisory networks, hospital-at-home, telemedicine specialist services and tele-clinical trials.

05

Healthcare Robotics

Physical AI for clinical, surgical and logistical environments — integrated with the intelligence layer rather than bolted on.

06

XR Clinical Collaboration

Immersive collaboration environments for multi-site case review, surgical planning and clinical education.

07

Genomics & Precision Medicine

Population-scale genomic infrastructure, condition-specific cohorts, sponsor-funded translational research.

08

Clinical Optimisation

AI-driven operational digital twins improving safety, throughput and clinician experience inside live healthcare environments.

02How we work

Applied research with a deployment bias.

The Futures Lab is not a think-tank. Every focus area is paired with an active venture, patent, clinical trial or strategic engagement — ensuring research translates into deployed systems rather than papers.

Existing programmes include Akkure Genomics (precision medicine, UCD Nexus, in partnership with RCSI and FutureNeuro), Docnostics / HomeGenie (clinical trials at St James's and Beaumont with CeADAR and the RCSI Department of Genomics), and the Quantum Consult™ multimodal intake engine.

We partner with universities, hospital groups, research centres, charities and industry to deliver new capability into clinical use.

Co-develop the future of care with us.
